About The Artist

Born in Florida and raised in Virginia, in my late 20's I took a detour that would shape my life. Shortly after finishing law school, I traveled to South Africa. While a guest at Mala Mala Game Reserve, I met my future husband, who was our guide within the reserve.  A long distance romance full of travel was followed by a move to South Africa where, for six years, we had many heart-stopping adventures, both good and, well, not so good. After a time, we moved back to the States to start our family and a new adventure. We still travel often to all of southern Africa and preach its magic to anyone who will listen. I believe most of my work comes from a place that is no place, that it is the manifestation of many roads taken, some in luxury, some on foot. From wandering lost in the bush at night among rhino, to battling wildfires, from sleeping under the stars, and enjoying gourmet dinners surrounded by a boma, to standing in the first storm of the season in the Kalahari, its all here, with me.  Each piece is an emotion and a space.
